PTFE can be used in a very wide temperature range. In many applications, the continuous use range is approximately between -200°C and +260°C. This makes the material particularly suitable for applications with strong temperature fluctuations.
In many cases, PTFE can be used in applications with food contact. The prerequisite is that the material used and the processing comply with the relevant legal requirements.
Teflon is a brand name for PTFE. The material itself is called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and is produced by various manufacturers. The properties of the material remain fundamentally the same.
PTFE components are usually manufactured from pressed or sintered semi-finished products and then mechanically processed. Depending on the application, various manufacturing processes can be used to achieve the desired properties and geometries.
